The PG Live team has been working closely with the Business Design Centre team to ensure that all necessary protocols for the whole visitor and exhibitor experience will be in place for the show. While PG Live is taking place after restrictions are to be completely lifted, safety measures will be in place in accordance with government guidelines.

Having been used as a vaccination centre for the last few months, the BDC is well equipped to ensure the safety of visitors and exhibitors through sanitation, ventilation, thermal imaging detection as well as regular testing of all of its staff.

As well as being executive director of the BDC, Max Bull is also chairman of the Association of Event Venues (AEV) and as such has been involved in high level talks with the Government on the guidelines and stipulations for exhibitions and events as we all progress to freedom.

“The BDC has been hugely proud to support the outstanding NHS and the impressive vaccination programme over recent months, but now we are fully prepared for PG Live. While the show could easily go ahead under the current ‘step 3’ restrictions, it will be even more enjoyable for all when these are lifted on July 19,” said Max. “The show’s rich history with the venue is a leading example of collaboration. I have no doubt it will generate an atmosphere and spirit which we have all missed so much while also enabling business to thrive again.”

Echoing the sentiments shared by many retailers, Mark Janson-Smithmanaging director of Postmark told PG Buzz: “I can’t think of a better show to kick off the return to normality than PG Live. I’ve missed everyone from the industry a lot this past year and this will be a show like no other. Roll on July 27!”

“The Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday (June 14) that ‘Freedom Day’ will be July 19, over a week before PG Live 2021 gives extra reassurance to our exhibitors and visitors that the show has the full go ahead. It will be such a wonderful and important reunion for the greeting card community after us all having been apart for so long,” commented Warren Lomax, director of Max Exhibitions, which owns and organises the show.
