Indie Focus: The Dotty House Creates A Buzz

When Angela Cooper and Sarah Marshall opened their first gift shop, The Dotty House, in Low Fell, Gateshead three years ago, the dream was to move closer to the high street.

Now, following the success of their original store, and the growth of their online business, that ambition has been realised with a brand new shop on Dryden Road, Low Fell, the area’s second busiest shopping street.

“When the Dryden Road shop became available, we jumped at the chance to move,” confirms Angela. “Day by day, everyone watched the building being improved until the shop opened earlier this month, selling gifts, homewares, prints, cards and North East related gift products, with locals telling us how thrilled they are about how the building looks. They’re saying that The Dotty House has really got this little shopping area buzzing!”

The Dotty House was originally launched by Angela and Sarah in 2005, where the friends designed and made personalised gifts for children.
