The Somerset Toiletry Company Brings Its Soap Manufacturing In House

In a positive move forward that significantly reduces the company’s carbon footprint, while at the same time boosting the local economy, The Somerset Toiletry Company is entering a new chapter this year by bringing its soap manufacturing in-house.

Previously working with overseas partners, single soap bars will now be produced by the company in a new facility based in North Somerset. “We are proud to be manufacturing in the UK and feel strongly about the environment, doing what we can to protect and conserve with full transparency,” states chairman Sakina Buoy.

The company confirmed that it has invested a significant amount of resource to set up the manufacturing facility. A large eco-friendly soap collection, Ministry of Soap, was launched with the vision to make luxurious triple-milled soap with minimal environmental impact.

Responsibly sourced ingredients include segregated sustainable palm oil, certified by RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil), was chosen to ensure the palm oil was 100% traceable from locations where native communities and wildlife are not threatened. The collection is also cruelty-free, suitable for vegans and packaged using minimal, recyclable, plastic-free packaging.

Following the initial success of the collection, new 200g soap bar additions to the collection will be available from this month featuring Animal Print, Gift Note and French Fancy.

The Somerset Toiletry Co. has been producing luxury bath and body products since 1999, and produces its own branded toiletries containing bespoke designs and formulations created in-house, as well as private label lines for leading retail groups throughout the world.
