New GA Chairman On A Charity Mission To Mongolia

Despite fracturing a wrist in training, and having to have it put in a cast in A&E while exhibiting at greeting card show PG Live last week, Jeremy Corner, the incoming chairman of The Giftware Association, and managing director of Blue Eyed Sun, will betravelling 1,500km across the Gobi Desert in Mongolia for charity, from July 2-11, with the race starting and finishing at Ulaanbataar.

Riding KTM 450 Enduro off-road motorbikes with eight friends on a self-funded trip, he is aiming to raise £3,000 for the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation which helps street children in Mongolia.

“I’ve been running, doing core work and have had to learn how to ride a motorbike, pass my license and gain experience off-roading in the UK,” Jeremy explains. “The main challenges will be fatigue and long days of intense concentration standing up on the bikes. The terrain will be mixed and challenging, and some days we will be covering up to 300km in one day.”

Jeremy adds that he particularly likes to support children’s charities. “I have a son and can see how vulnerable children can be without help. This charity was created by an incredible woman who survived being a street child herself and has lived an extraordinary life which I saw in the movie Noble.”

The charity helps children in desperate need on streets of Ulaanbataar, the coldest capital city in the world. where temperatures drop to -40 degrees Celsius and unemployment runs at 60%. The funds raised will provide the children with access to warm accommodation and social support.
