Corkcicle’s Works Of Art

With re-usable bottles and travel cups one of the fastest growing product sectors for gift shops, Auteur UK’s Corkcicle brand has collaborated with the estate of Keith Haring to use Keith’s iconic artwork for a range of limited editions bottles and travel cups.

Through his pop art style and vibrant graffiti-like paintings, Keith challenged the status quo and is recognised for this huge contribution to New York’s 1980s street culture.

Currently, a Keith Haring exhibition is on show at the Tate Liverpool until November, and publicity surrounding his work is likely to build up in the coming months as 2020 marks 20 years since his death.

Corkcicle will also be bringing street art back to the street – via ‘on the go’ products – through a collaboration with the estate of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s career spanned the late 1970s until his death in 1988 at age 27.

Before becoming an artist, Jean-Michel sold punk-inspired postcards on the street and established a political-poetical graffiti identity under the name of SAMO. His artwork is known for its raw, edgy style and bold use of colour and urban motifs.

Further elevating art for everyday use, Corkcicle has alsorecently joined forces with LA based lifestyle design brand Poketa for a variety of distinctive bottles and cups. The various ‘arty’ ranges were showcased at last month’s Exclusively Housewares show.
