Making It In The USA

Last week saw Talking Tables hosting a Talking Together event in collaboration with The Giftware Association, based on the theme ‘Making it in the USA’.

Joining Talking Tables’ co-founder, Mark McCormack, on the panel were Sarah Ward ceo of The Giftware Association; Mad Beauty’s head of commercial Jonathan Tomkins and Courtney Wood, founder of Bubblegum Games. Topics covered included the growing importance of Faire as a relatively easy route to market, and overcoming our British reserve at using superlatives when ‘bigging up’ product.

There were also contributions from attendees who, encouraged by moderator Clare Harris, the founder of Talking Tables, generously swapped challenges, experiences and solutions. Among the attendees were Henry & Co, FYG, Stoneglow, Boxer Gifts, Toasted Crumpet, Hello Fun, Gibson Games and Blue Eyed Sun.

This was the fourth Talking Together event held between Talking Tables and The Giftware Association. “The aim is for giftware brands to come together and help each other by sharing knowledge and asking questions of each other,” explained Clare. Previous topics have included sustainability, becoming a B Corp and sourcing.
