Exclusively Reveals The ‘Best Of The Best’ Trend Products At The Show

The Exclusively Show, which took place this week on 13 and 14 June at London’s Business Design Centre, revealed the ‘best of the best’ products for the coming 18 months and more, as selected by trend forecaster Scarlet Opus.

Among the key products highlighted for setting standards in terms of concept and design was Denby’s new Kiln Accents collection.

Chosen by Scarlet Opus for its warm, earthy tones and comforting hues that are transeasonal, the company highlighted that the ochre, rust, slate and taupe colours are reminiscent of powdered spices such as turmeric, cayenne and ground peppercorns, working particularly well when stacked or layered on top of each other. The colours also align with the warm, gently faded, nostalgic palette of Scarlet Opus’ Freethinkers trend.

The trend analysts commented: “The shapes are extremely versatile and can be used for many different practical and decorative purposes around the home, and are robust enough to be used and enjoyed every day. “

Freethinkers was one of three trends highlighted by Scarlet Opus, with director Phil Pond explaining it has developed following people having their freedoms repressed during the pandemic. “Consumers in this group have a new spirit of adventure. They are optimistic, looking to connect with brands that will engage with them,” he stated. “Colours have a softness, seeming a little out of focus.”

A second trend highlighted by Phil was New Protagonists, with followers interested in interactions, experiences, brands, products and services that increase their confidence, reassure them and make them feel good. “Wellbeing, and products connected to wellness in particular, really resonate with this group,” he confirmed. “Designers are being inspired by rich, dark colours and vast spaces, with patterns connected to nature.”

Modern Stoics meanwhile, reflects people who are realists and self-reliant, with a strong work ethic. “Their goal is stability and pragmatism, with everything orderly and planned, with people in this group taking a long-term view. Everything they buy must have a purpose, must be needed and must last. The colour and feel is about a pared back, solid foundation.”

The Exclusively show took place at London’s Business Design Centre earlier this week.
