Greats 2023 Finalists Jump For Joy On Hearing The ‘Greats’ News

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday (16 March), the finalists of The Greats Awards 2023 were announced to whoops of delight, with gift retailers thrilled to share their initial reactions at the exciting news! 

At Maybugs in Bexhill-on-Sea, Eastbourne an Hailsham, co-owners Greg Rose and John Dale were fast off the mark in getting the news out to their local media. “Wowzah! Two nominations, we’re over the moon!” exclaimed Greg. We can’t wait to celebrate in May with all the other nominees.”

I’m absolutely over the moon to have made it as a finalist!” said a thrilled Jodi Lee Laverty, owner of Dolly Daydream in Presteigne. “This is just the best news for our lovely little shop, my mum and the ladies who work with us and make it all possible. I’m so proud and excited!” she added.

 “I’m in floods of happy tears,” said an emotional Jo Williams, owner of Joco Interiors in Nuneaton.  “After such a hard 12 months this is such amazing news.”

No doubt summarising the thoughts of all the finalists, Aga Marsden, owner of Highworth Emporium in Highworth, commented: “I would like to wake up to news like that every day!  I’m really chuffed!”, while Judy Evans, owner of Williams of Audlem in Audlem enthused: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be a finalist in the most prestigious awards night in the gift industry! Who doesn’t dream of an evening of gift-related glitz and glamour!”

All winners, including the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Achievement award, will be revealed at The Gift Awards on Thursday 11 May at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. For the second year in succession, this incredible event will bring together The Giftware Association’s Gift of the Year Awards and The Greats gift retailer awards, organised and owned by Max Publishing, publishers of Progressive Gifts & Home/GiftsandHome.net.

At this glittering event, both gift product excellence and retail prowess will be recognised and rewarded in a true celebration of both sides of the UK gift industry.
