Prue Leith’s Colourful Interview On BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live

Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith, well known for dazzling fans in her colourful, statement jewellery, clothes and glasses, was among the interviewees on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live on 4 March.

Interviewed by the programme’s Nikki Bedi, Prue explained where her love of colour comes from. “My husband John Playfair was in the fashion business and has encouraged me to wear more colourful things,” she highlighted. Talking about her love of jewellery she added: “We buy a lot of jewellery from street markets around the world that’s made from recycled paper, or rubber, or leather, or old plastic bags. I love jewellery, and stuff in general, that’s been repurposed and I also love things that are very bright. For example, I have a jewellery range of my own that’s made out of resin with everything fantastically brightly coloured.”

Asked what’s in the pipeline for this year, Prue highlighted her one live woman show – Nothing in Moderation – that’s on tour in the UK until 6 April, and which will go on tour in America at the end of the year. “Members of the audience often bring me a necklace they’ve made, and some even have cupcakes on!” revealed Prue.
