Giving & Living Puts A Focus On Trends And Locally British Made Giftware

Coastal show Giving & Living will be putting a focus on trends and locally made British giftware when the show opens its doors to buyers at Westpoint, Exeter, from 15-17 January.  Key sectors for the 2023 show include the Coastal Path, Naturally, and Designed and Made in Britain, all of which are at the front and centre of the consumer preference for locally made, sustainable products and working and holidaying at home.

Show organisers Hale Events highlight that while the cost-of-living crisis is likely to subdue gift spending, shoppers are still out there in search of inspiration. Functionality is predicted to be key, with consumers choosing to gift items that can be of practical value. With many people working from home gift givers will also be on the lookout for  products reflecting this, to include desk accessories, lighting solutions, grow-your-own, houseplant pots and pet products, plus candles and diffusers.  Personalisation will, once again, be a strong trend.

The organisers add that local businesses can expect to build on the loyalty that grew strongly during the pandemic years, especially those stocking locally made products, to include jewellery and homewares. In addition, 2023 is predicted to be another strong year for handmade crafts and other locally made products, with consumers choosing to buy British wherever they can.
