Cardology’s Battersea Pop Up Cards Win The Gift Of The Year’s People’s Choice Awards

Cardology’s handmade Battersea Pop Up Cards were crowned the winner of the Gift of the Year 2022’s People’s Choice award at the Harrogate Home & Gift Sundowners party at the end of the first day of the show. Voted for by the public, it’s the second consecutive year that the award has been presented

“Consumers are more conscious than they have ever been,” said The Giftware Association’s ceo Sarah Ward. “They seek transparency and authenticity when being communicated to by brands. They seek quality brands that stand by their values and they seek joy. Our very worthy winner of this year’s People’s Choice award delivers all of this, and so much more. Their customers and champions clearly believe that they deserve to be crowned as the final part of our Gift of the Year Awards.”

Cardology’s founder and director, David Falkner, told GiftsandHome.net: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this award, especially as we started out as a B2C company. Our thanks to our licensor, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.”

Cardology, which produces handmade cards that give back, developed the officially licensed charity cards in partnership with the Battersea Dog & Cats Home to support rescue. The company’s cards are designed to have a huge impact when opened, living on in the recipient’s memory.

“This year in particular, everyone is looking for extra special cards to tell their loved ones how much they mean to them,” added Chris Workman, PR and marketing manager of The Giftware Association. “The greeting card industry as a whole increased by 14% in 2021[1] and is said to be worth over £1.4bn[2]. So to be able to give a keepsake product that enhances connections in a meaningful way is extremely important post-pandemic and in the fast-paced digital world in which we live.”

Earlier this year, Cardology also received acclaim at The Gift Awards, held in May, for their striking handmade 3D colourful pop up menu cards. The design team, led by Kripa Shah, focused on the theme of celebration and the idea of bringing the Gift of the Year Awards competition together with The Greats Awards.
