Hitting The Airwaves

For one Autumn Fair exhibitor, Kushboo Soaps, the first day of the show was especially memorable. “It began early with an interview on Radio 2’s Good Morning Sunday at 7.45am,” explained the company’s founder Sarwat Jaleel.

Still at her hotel, and getting ready to come into the show, Sarwat was interviewed for the charity slot by the show’s two presenters, the Revered Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad.

“We had a chat about the business – our vegan, handmade soaps that are all made with 100% pure, natural ingredients –  and about the fact that every soap represents dignity for someone. For every soap we sell, I donate one to the vulnerable. Currently we are supporting three charities representing the homeless, women’s refuges and food banks,” confirms Sarwat, who recently won the Entrepreneur of the Year at the national Businesswoman of the Year awards.

With the interview completed, Sarwat and her husband Richard Howard headed off to the NEC. So how was the first day of the show? “We had a really good day,” said Sarwat, “with a really good order at 9.10am, so it was a great start to the day and to the show!”
