Supporting ‘This Is What It Takes’ Hospice Campaign

If there’s one positive from the pandemic, it’s an innate desire to be kind, to help others and to give hope, with Isle of Wight home fragrancing company Chilliwinter among the gift suppliers helping to raise money during Hospice Care Week, which is currently underway.

Explains Chilliwinter’s co-founder Kathy Chillistone: “This month, we are celebrating an exciting new partnership with the national charity Hospice UK, specifically using our handmade, revitalised remedial Aromatherapy collection. With a donation of £3.75 for every 150g candle sold, it gives back to those who need it the most, while also enabling the user to enjoy some relaxation time.”

She continued: “Community is firmly at the heart of who we are and what we do. In our home community on the Isle of Wight, we have raised almost £4k for our local Mountbatten Hospice since lockdown, having created a range of products with rainbow and sunflowers themes as symbols of hope during an uncertain time.”

This week’s Hospice Care Week, led by Hospice UK, is marked by a This Is What It Takescampaign to celebrate people contributing in some way to the work of the 200+ hospices across the UK.

“The work everyone does to support the patient and their families is the work of true often unspoken heroes,” states Kathy. “Their planned fundraising revenues have been really hard this year, and we are very proud to have partnered with Hospice UK to boost this.”
