Lights, Camera, Action!

The cameras were rolling when Royal Mail staged a Thinking of You Week activation in one of its office reception areas, whereby it encouraged staff to select cards, write them there and then and post them. The film crew put the Royal Mail card senders on the spot, asking them to whom they were sending the cards to and why.

Entitled ‘Who are you thinking of?’, the film showed how mums, brothers, friends and colleagues from the Royal Mail team were all in for some extra greeting card wishes during the campaign, (which ended on Saturday September 28), and for different reasons, whether it was to cheer someone up who was down in the dumps, or letting them know how they brought a sparkle to the office.

The video, which was shared widely via Royal Mail’s social media channels, ended with a call to action – ‘Send a card to someone you’re thinking of.’

In addition, Royal Mail included a Thinking of You Week stamp cancellation mark that featured on millions of pieces of mail during the week-long Greeting Card Association (GCA) instigated initiative which has been running consecutively for six years.

Among the gift shops taking part in this year’s campaign was Box of Delights in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.
