How I Did It By Hannah Dale

Fresh from a successful few days exhibiting at Home & Gift in Harrogate this week, Wrendale Designs’ founder and creative director Hannah Dale took time out of her busy schedule yesterday to speak to a group of 13-14 year olds at a school in Lincolnshire.

Explains Hannah, who has had her own company since 2012: “The school’s head feels that girls in particular lack confidence in terms of pursuing a creative career, and I was asked to talk to them about how to set up and run a successful business in the creative arts in terms of the challenges I faced six years ago when starting out, and the importance of being resilient.”

Among the wisdom that Hannah shared was not to be put off by negativity and negative comments. “It is very much about not being deterred if you have an idea or career path that you want to follow, and about having a real belief in what you want to do.”

Wrendale Designs’ award winning product range includes gifts, stationery, homewares, fashion accessories, home and garden, pets, greeting cards and giftwrap.

The company’s products, which feature Hannah’s quirky animal paintings, are sold around the world.
