As winner of The Greats Best Newcomer South & Wales category, Aga Gabrysiak, co-owner of Highworth Emporium in Highworth, understandably wanted to shout about the shop’s success, as well as saying thank you to her customers.
“The number of comments, congratulations and lovely messages we received after our win just overwhelmed us,” Aga told GiftsandHome.net “We therefore thought that holding a celebration daywas a perfect way to say thank you, linked in with a competition that asked customers to ‘Guess how heavy our trophy is’ with the winner receiving a Highworth Emporium gift voucher for the closest guess.”
The event took place last Saturday (June 8) with the guest of honour being the Mayor of Highworth Julia Bishop. “Around 80 customers came along to celebrate with us, and the Mayor made a heart-warming speech,” commented Aga. “We also commissioned a very special celebration cake in a shape of The Greats trophy.”
She continued: “It was an extremely lovely, friendly event with a lot of laughter, especially when people were lifting our trophy in order to guess its weight. Note for the future – pounds to grams convertor is a must! However, what was really special about the day was that we were able to spend quality time with our customers. No one was rushing, people were hanging around, chatting, drinking Prosecco and enjoying a slice of cake. For all of us, it was a very memorable and wonderful day. It was so important to celebrate our success with the people who support us every day – our customers – as our success at The Greats could not have happened without them.”
