Among the celebrities visiting ExCeL on the first day of Brand Licensing Europe (BLE, November 17) are the Style Sisters – Charlotte Reddington and Gemma Lily – specialists in home and wardrobe detoxing.
The glamorous duo will be giving away copies of their book – Helping You To Live An Organised & Stylish Life – with visitors to the show also being offered a chance to win a wardrobe detox tomorrow (November 18). Today’s session takes place in the Retail Lounge at 2.15pm with a ‘meet and greet’ in the BLE Bar at 2.45pm.
Sustainability is central to the show, with the BLE Sustainability Activation on Stand No. A131 in partnership with Products of Change. Brands showcased include the Natural History Museum, Tesco and Dreamtex. There are also dedicated spaces from the Eden Project and George @ Asda, with Teemill showing its commitment to the circular economy, and material innovation inspiration from Wastebuster and Ecoalf.
As with previous years, the show’s traditional character parade took place this morning featuring among others The Snowman, the Smurfs, the Minions and the Gruffalo who wandered through the halls for their annual photo opportunity.
“There is SO much happening at BLE 2021, and we’re delighted to welcome everyone back and reconnect the European licensing industry for the first time in over two years,” said Anna Knight, VP Licensing, Informa Markets.
The final of this year’s Kelvyn Gardner License This! competition will take place on Friday (November 19) at 12pm in the Retail Trends Lounge, which will see nine finalists battling it out to win one of three trophies – Brand & Design, Character & Animation and Product Design. Sarah Ward, ceo of The Giftware Association will be among the judges.
