Frankfurt’s leading consumer goods fair Ambiente – the industry’s No. 1 international show for home and dining trends – opens its doors to visitors today, (February 8), with some 4,451 exhibitors from 92 countries showcasing products. This year, an unprecedented 85% of exhibitors come from outside Germany. Covering three areas – Living, Giving and Dining – visitors will be flying in from over 160 countries until the show closes on February 12.
With India as Ambiente’s partner country this year – focusing on the theme The Future is Handmade – singing sensation Kanika Kapoor, who has her own fashion label House of Chikankari, will be the star attraction at the show on Monday February 11.
Kanika has used her fashion house to develop the art of embroidery and textile decoration, and has highlighted that her keen interest in handmade is one of the many reasons that she is looking forward to attending Ambiente. “It’s my privilege to be a part of one of the leading trade fairs of the world, and to be invited to represent India on an international platform,” she stated. “I’m very much looking forward to the overall experience.”
On her tour of the show, Kanika will enjoy a preview of the colours, trends and innovations that will dominate interiors over the coming season – although the star attraction is sure to be India’s presentation, Hand Make, as well as a visit to the stands of several leading Indian and international exhibitors.
In addition to her hugely successful singing career, which will see her as a coach on the next series of The Voice India, Kanika has become a brand ambassador for the Swiss watch company, 88 Rue du Rhone, an independent brand by Raymond Weil. She has also been a brand ambassador for Samsung since 2018.
