Less than a month after winning the Independent Gift Retailer of the Year Midlands & Wales category at The Greats 2019, Jo Williams, owner of Joco Interiors in Nuneaton, was back on stage at the historic Coombe Abbey Hotel in Coventry to receive two finalist certificates and a commendation at the Woman Who Achieves Awards.
“I was awarded two finalist certificates for the Growing SME and Outstanding and Inspiring Leader Awards, and was then called to the stage for a third time to receive a commendation for Micro Business of the Year,” Jo told GiftsandHome.net. “I was then interviewed on stage by the awards presenter, which was daunting at first, but once I managed to calm my nerves I championed the high street and how much we, as small independent retailers, are doing to keep it open.”
She continued: “Throughout the day there were lots of inspirational women speakers with the awards covering a vast range of categories including international awards, rising star awards and charity fundraising awards. I was also excited to hear from the national awards organiser, Sandra Garlick, that the Woman Who Achieves does not end with the awards ceremony and to watch my inbox for more exciting news to come!”
